Lynda Akiyama
LCSW, Clinical Program Director — Fullerton
Lynda is the Clinical Program Director of Child Guidance Center’s Fullerton clinic. Lynda began her journey at Child Guidance Center in 1998 as a full-time clinician. From 2007-2009, she served as the Program Coordinator of the Buena Park clinic. She then moved back to Fullerton as the Assistant Clinical Program Director and remained in that role for over 12 years.
Throughout her years at Child Guidance Center, Lynda has enjoyed providing direct clinical services, including PCIT, TF-CBT, Incredible Years, and PEERS, as well providing on-going training and supervision to staff and master’s level students.
Lynda holds a bachelor’s in psychology from UC Irvine and a master’s degree in social work from CSULB.
Lynda was born and raised in Los Angeles County, where she continues to reside. Her husband, two children, and the family dog keep her very busy. She holds a black belt in Soo Bahk Do and enjoys training with her daughter in this Korean marital art form. She also looks forward to traveling to Hawaii as often as she can.
